Groundwork Minneapolis Projects

Groundwork Minneapolis is working on several long term projects around the city. Some of the current projects are listed below. Click the links for more information on specific projects.

  • Ryan Lake Park and Trail:
    cleaning up tires
    a project in the Victory Neighborhood of northwest Minneapolis to develop a local trail connection and improve the Ryan Lake public shoreline.

  • BF Nelson Site:
    a project in the St. Anthony West neighborhood to clean up a contaminated former industrial site along the Mississippi River, and turn it into a park for passive recreation.

  • Bluff Street Park:
    Planting in downtown triangle

    a project in the Cedar Riverside/West Bank neighborhood to clean up and improve a former industrial site into a passive use park, overlooking the Mississippi.
  • Downtown Triangle:
    a project with the Downtown Council to refurbish a deteriorating small park with new landscaping and plantings.
  • Downtown Parking Lot:a project to convert a conventional asphalt parking lot into a sustainable model parking lot with rain gardens, so stormwater is retained on site.
  • Lowell School Site:
    a project in the Jordan neighborhood to build a small park, with play equipment, gardens, and possibly an artistic feature, in conjunction with new single family housing on a former elementary school site.
