Groundwork Minneapolis Project Selection Criteria

• Mission:
  The project is compatible with Groundwork Minneapolis' mission and goals.
• Location:
  Project site is completely or partially within the boundaries of the City of Minneapolis.
• Green Space:
  The project includes a park and/or open space element that will be open to the public.
• Project Need:
  There is a legitimate need and urgency for Groundwork programs and services for the project, no other agency or group is meeting those needs on the project, and it is likely that the project will not progress at a reasonable rate without Groundwork involvement.
• Neighborhood Support:
  Project is requested and/or actively supported by the neighborhood, as represented by the neighborhood organization.
• Compatibility:
  The project is consistent with the city's current comprehensive plan, the Neighborhood Action Plan, and other appropriate local, regional, state, and federal planning documents and pertinent regulations.
• Agency support:
  Groundwork involvement is requested by or acceptable to the appropriate government agencies and landowner(s).
• Public input:
  The project includes reasonable opportunity for public input.
• Program:
  The project falls within one or more of Groundwork Minneapolis' specified program areas.
• Organizational benefit:
  While Groundwork is new, projects which (a) help Groundwork to become established organizationally or financially, (b) can be completed quickly, or (c) increase Groundwork's visibility and community support, should be given strong consideration.
• Leverage:
  Projects for which Groundwork can help a project to be carried out more efficiently or effectively (at lower cost, or with more resources from other sources, or with more community involvement) should be given consideration.
• Balance:
  A project which appears high priority according to most of the above guidelines, but which violates one or two of the guidelines, may still be considered.
