Project: Ryan Lake Park and Trail
Project Features:
Ryan Lake is an 18 acre lake on the border of Minneapolis, Robbinsdale and Brooklyn Center in the northwest corner of Minneapolis. The City owns 18 shoreland acres, including 1700 feet of shoreline. This project is a community led effort to improve lakeshore access, provide walking and biking connections, restore the shoreline, and connect and enhance open spaces with native trees and plantings.
Plans include:
- A trail, new accessible dock, native plantings, benches, a picnic table, and a rain garden along the public shoreline
- A trail underpass under busy Hwy 152 (Osseo Rd) connecting Ryan Lake to Victory Prairie
- Restoration of Victory Prairie with native plants and walking trails
- Native trees and plants along the new trail connection and Hwy 152

- Planting Day: 4800 square feet of lakeshore planted by volunteers--September 2004
